The same cross fox I photographed and reported last year was spotted in my garden at 8:25 pm today. Looking very healthy with very nice fur, not as raggedy as last year. Apparently doing well in this location. By the time I reached for my camera, it was gone.

That's neat that you've seen the same animal from the year prior!

Since the colour isn't that common, I assume it's the same - and coming in by the same path the animal left by last time, so maybe in the same den. When I read about foxes last year, I was sad to hear that foxes in the wild have such a short lifespan, only a couple of years, compared to foxes in captivity which live a dozen years or more. So it was a bit heartening to see this fox looking well groomed and healthy. I'm guessing they are eating well on the population of snowshoe hare that is protected from human hunting because it is too close to our homes.
