Looks like the fly has a fungal infection. The fungus kills the fly and then grows out through the exoskeleton to disperse spores.  Looks like the fungus came out through the softer cuticle between the abdominal segments first.  I would guess that if you kept it that in a few days the entire body would probably be covered in the white stuff.
