Not 100% what it was. Didn't look as big as a crane. Didn't see a lot of colour so could be a different bird.

Thanks... It took off so fast.. I saw it from my room and snapped this picture and ran outside... Made a strange sound and was gone before I could snap another one. I have never seen anything like it before!

yes, they have a funny call... sort of a "ga-rump" gulping-like sound.
