I held a net under a spruce tree and shook the branches. This was one of the insects that fell into the net. For one photo, I placed it on the reverse side of a Canadian 10 cent coin. I did this to give an idea of the actual size of some of the arthropod photos that I post. The creatures generally look a lot bigger in my photos than in real live.
