Comments:
Found these two isopods by using a dip net to sweep the saltwater and seaweed at the edge of a wooden boat ramp. This was in the inter-tidal zone. The light coloured one was 2mm long and the darker one was 3mm. The photos were taken while the isopods were immersed in a small container of saltwater.

these are great sightings! what size of a net do you use? you should post a photo of that net as well!

I bought my net from BioQuip.com. It is similar to their "model 7512DN, Aquatic Net, 2-Piece, D Shape, 150 Micron". They no longer sell the one that I use. Mine is triangular, has a one-piece handle. Other wise it is pretty much the same as model 7512DN. The new one is probably better because of the two-piece handle. It makes it much easier to carry in a vehicle. The 150 micron mesh size is important for small organisms. They also sell a 500 micron version. See: https://www.bioquip.com/Search/DispProduct.asp?pid=7512D
