that's a big group - seems late in the year. I wonder if they were just fuelling up before continuing on south?

They are in North West Brook, just off the highway. They come there to feed. a few years ago only would see 2 or 3 there at any given time. over the past 3 or 4 years they have increased steadily to now there are 150 geese come there to feed. there is no hABITAT THERE FOR THEM TO NEST. BUT THEY ARE THERE MOST EVERY DAY UNTIL FREEZEUP. not many frequents there during the nesting season. my daughter lives there and she tells me the same thing. another reason , I is there are not as many people who hunt close to communities anymore. they nest a dozen miles inland, in the Black River pond area.
