I am not sure about the sighting. I have a picture but the animal looks more like a grey fox ??then a coyote.

This is actually a Cross Fox, a colour phase of the Red Fox. The Cross is actually a black dorsal stripe intersecting a black band across the front shoulders, just barely visible in this pic.It is also locally called Patch Fox from its patchy appearance. Silver Fox is another colour phase of this same species. The breakdown of % occurrence for the colour-phases in NL is roughly 65% Red, 25% Cross and 10% Silver.
