Comments:
this is a first year one. It was asleep when I stopped. then it opened it's eyes and started calling for food. I know that sound very well. they would come close to my boat and make the same sounds. We would throw out some fish and it would take and fly to a rock and eat it. after that , if it was still hungry it would fly back and call for more food. Also when we were school kids, we would go out the nesting grounds and catch them when they were left the nest but not fly very good. we they put them in a pen covered with netting. after feeding them for a couple of weeks to a month we would let them out. if we fed them every day they would stay until the fall. sometimes one or two would stay as pets all winter. the longest one I had stayed for 2 years. after we let them out of the pen, we would never put them back. they had the freedom .
