Comments:
Caught in a net when sweeping the water at the edge of a small pond. It was saved in a jar of pond water and photographed 4 days later. I believe it is a backswimmer. I usually photograph aquatic animals in a container of the original water. I this case I let the backswimmer crawl around on a styrofoam picnic plate because it seemed equally comfortable out of the water as in it.
