Comments:
a mother loon was feeding her young in the pond as I photographed her. She did not appear to be disturbed by the activity of the 4 children playing and splashing in the water. in a couple of photos I can see food in her beak, surprisingly, at least to me, it was not fish, but either large bugs or possible crayfish. I would love for others to look and comment on this feeding behaviour!!!!

thanks Sam. It was one of my best nature encounters so far with my new camera. I hope to try again on a quiet day to see if I can get some closer feeding to see exactly WHAT the young are being fed!
