Comments:
The frog was sitting totally submerged in a water puddle in the middle of a dirt path. The water was brownish in colour. This frog was identified by someone at iNaturalist.org as Lithobates clamitans (Green Frog). I notice that there is another entry on NLNatue .com for Rana clamitans. According to ITIS (Integrated Taxonomic Information System),the genus name "Rana" has been replaced by the genus name "Litobates". That is why I have ID'd my observation as both Lithobates clamitans and Rana clamitans.

guessing a green frog based on the long toe, but hard to do the colour with the brackish water. Green frogs and mink frogs can resemble each other when young, but the toes (and the smell, if you pick it up) are a good diagnostic. If the 3rd toe on the hind foot is a little longer than the 1st it is a green frog, if the 3rd toe is much shorter than the 1st it is a mink frog. Mink frogs also have a musky odour if you pick them up.
