Landed on my left hand. I took the photos with my right hand. It stung a bit as it was drawing my blood. The 'tube' that it used to suck the blood is clearly visable in a couple of the photos. Only female Deer Flies draw blood so this was a female. I know, kind of crazy to let it bite me, especially since they can cause allergic reactions but I've had other bites from Stouts and they've never bothered me that bad.

Stout bites hurt!!! I'd rather be bitten by a mosquito.
