Comments:
Collected at Outer Cove and brought home for the photographs that were taken about an hour later. This ant was one of many in a sandy ant hill measuring about 10 feet by 4 feet in size. They were way too agressive to try and take a photo of the ants in place in their colony. I chilled this ant slightly before the photos to slow it down. That is how I got the photo of it on its back. It was alive and well; just a little slower than normal.
