Blossom about 4 cm in diameter. This was the lone flower in a small meadow.

Great photo! I saw a lone one of these this week too- I wonder what it is? Do you think it could be blue-eyed grass (Iris family)?

Thanks Michelle.  I'm afraid I'm no good at identifying wildflowers.  I had a look at images of blue-eyed grass on the web though and many of them looked similar to this one.  The six petals seemed common to them all.  I'll bet you're correct.
