Trying to understand the workings of this site yet? :) Not sure what we really need/should to be posting. I live on 10acres here, retired, I 'could' probably submit tonnes if it's helpful? Any advice? :)

Post anything you see really. Plant, animals insects. :)

K, thanks, will do. Could of used this place sometimes last year. We have a lynx around our home. We have video and pic if him. :) saw his scat just today. Regarding my pic above there, any ideas in what it is? Fungus? Not sure I've seen that particular type much.

Hi GrizzlyChris.

Yes, please post anything you see that is of interest. If you know what it is, great, but if not people here will help out. Looks like you've got two kinds of lichen on this log. I believe they are both from the genus Cladonia - which is what most people call "reindeer lichen". There is a bit of some (without the red tips) near the middle of the picture (even looks a bit like caribou antlers) that you often see in larger clumps.

You can post older shots - like you lynx photos - if you don't remember exact date, just approximate is fine. We even take scat pictures - see:

Looking forward to what you have to contribute!!

Thank you lessa, funny you mention the scat. I have pic of some I found here a week or so ago and it seems 'out of norm' I can't identify? I'll post it here.
