This was on the trunk bark of a maple tree. It was a greyish-white color oval about 17 mm across the major axis and another oval of dark spots inside. I don't know if this is a lichen or fungus or both. Can anyone help? The greyish area had virtually no depth to it. The brown spots stuck out a tiny bit but not much. Their depth was hardly noticable to the naked eye.
