Cap was abt 8 cm across. It may not be clear from the photo so I thought I should mention that in the image with the green moss background, the mushroom has already been picked from the ground and is lying on its side on the moss. The other image shows it growing in place before it was picked.

This mushroom is a Russula paludosa.
