The fly measures 8 mm head to wing tips. The tiny bugs on this fly may look like parasites but they are not. They are 'hitching' a ride on the fly. It is the way that they can travel distances that are too long for them to travel themselves. There is a scientific term for this phenomenon of insect behaviour but I can't think of it at the moment. Can anyone provide the term?
