Comments:
I observed this Tern dive in the narrow space between my wharf and a close by fishing stage. It emerged with a small herring and landed on the concrete deck of my wharf. It stayed there over three hours, first struggling to swallow the herring, and resting after, doing stretches and stroking its neck on the concrete. I am wondering if the neck rubbing on the concrete was trying to complete the swallowing of the Herring
