Comments:
Found by using a plastic jar to dip some water out of a small brook. Ambient air temperature was -3°C. I was interested in finding if any arthropods would be found in St. John's area freshwater during the winter. This amphipod was the only living thing I found in the single jar of water that I sampled. Photographed while swimming in a small drop of water on a white paper plate.
